Srinagar, Jan 27 : Terming the killing of 17 year old Shakir Ahmad Mir at the hands of government forces as a glaring example of colonial attitude of India towards Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) delegation toady visited Qalampora to express solidarity with the bereaved family of innocent Shakir Ahmad. The delegation was led by district president Pulwama Mohammad Amin. Shakir was brutally killed by Indian forces at Chaigund village. Two brave hearts, Shaheed Sameer Ahmad of Chaigund-Adoo village and Shaheed Firdous Ahmad Lone resident of Ganowpora Shopian also achieved martyrdom in the village while fighting the Indian troops. The delegation also visited the residence of Shaheed Sameer Ahmad at Chaigund-Adoo and paid him and his colleague Shaheed Firdous Ahmad rich tributes.
The delegation members assured the bereaved family of innocent Shakir Ahmad Mir that whole nation is with them in this time of grief and sorrow. While condemning the brutal killing of Shakir and injuring dozens other unarmed civilians the DFP delegation members said that Indian forces are deployed in Kashmir to kill the pro-freedom people on one pretext or the other.
The DFP delegation later visited the residence of editor daily Kashmir Uzma, Hamid Hameed and condoled him on the sad demise of his mother. The delegation expressed solidarity with Hamid Hameed and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased soul. (KNS)
