Govt playing delaying tactics to prolong Shah’s ‘illegal’ detention: Dr Bilquees
Srinagar, Jan 30: Dr Bilquees Shah, the wife of incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah, was on Tuesday questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at Delhi.
Dr Bilquees told news agency GNS that she was questioned for 7 hours. She said Shah’s nephew was also questioned for about 12 hours on Monday.
“The reason behind all this is that after completing the investigation and filing of charge sheet by ED, nothing was found /proved against Shabir Shah till date. This has frustrated the ED officers,” Dr Bilquees said.
Dr Bilquees said she was made to reply to “old questions” about her job, livelihood, and education of children, bank details, earnings, salary, and property details etc.
“When I objected to reply once again which i have replied in my written statements during my previous visits, the Assistant Director ED told me that the previous Enforcement Officer has been transfered to his parent department and now he is fresh to the case and needs all the details once again,” she said.
“The irony is that ED has already been investigating an old case of 2005 wherein the fresh investigations are also going on since past more than six months and the Enforcement Officer is telling me that he is new to the case.
This shows clearly how government is playing delaying tactics just to prolong the illegal detention of Shabir Shah,” Dr Bilquees said. (GNS
