Srinagar, Jan 16: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) on Tuesday hailed the consistency and the courage of National Health Mission (NHM) employees who are on protest from past over 27 days to press the government for their regularization.
In a statement issued to KNS, Khurshid Ahmad Bhat, Chief Spokesman of EJAC said that an emergency meeting of EJAC was held at its central office Srinagar under the leadership of its President, Abdul Qayoom Wani.
While speaking in the meeting, Wani said that the strike of NHM employees have badly affected the patient care in the hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir especially in the rural areas in which common people are the worst sufferers.
Wani said that this sensitive issue must be the cause of concern for everybody and the people with the helm of affairs should not keep their eyes closed on this sensitive issue.
“The employees of NHM are on the streets throughout the state for one month and have been ruthlessly beaten by police and are being pressurized but the employees have decided not to succumb under the pressure tactics. At the same time they have never closed the doors of negotiations,” Wani said.
He said that negotiation is the only way out to solve this issue but pressure tactics by the government will not yield any result.
Wani hailed the courage of NHM employees and their leaders and assured them full support from EJAC.
EJAC president urged upon the government to initiate a fruitful dialogue with the leaders of NHM employees keeping in view the patient care in hospitals of the state.
Wani demanded personal intervention of Chief Minister, Health Minister and Chief Secretary in resolving the genuine demands of NHM employees so that employees in particular and common people in general may have a sigh of relief
