Pulwama, Jan 1: Police on Monday said that they recovered the body of a third militant from CRPF Training Centre in Lethpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
On Sunday during a fidayeen attack, five CRPF men and two local militants Manzoor Ahmed of Drabgam and Fardeen Ahmed of Nazneenpora Tral were killed.
The operation today concluded with the recovery of the body of third militant whose identity has not been ascertained.
Jammu Kashmir Police Chief Dr SP Vaid took to twitter and said that the operation has concluded finally with the recovery of body of third militant.
A top CRPF official also said that the operation launched after a Fidayeen attack on a forces’ training centre in Lethpora yesterday has ended with the recovery of body of third militant.
The identity of the body is being established, said CRPF IG Ravideep Sahi.
He said three AK-47 rifles and eight grenades have been recovered from the site of the gunfight.
As reported yesterday, militants stormed a CRPF camp in Lethpora area along the Srinagar-Anantnag highway in an audacious pre-dawn strike on Sunday, killing at least five CRPF personnel. (CNS)
