Pulwama, Jan 30 : With the joint efforts of wildlife department, forest and its protection department, the forest fires which ravaged vast green cover in Tral forests were doused completely on Tuesday with no reports of fresh blaze from anywhere in the sub division.
The official said it was fully prepared to deal with fresh fires in case they break out anywhere in Tral due to dry weather conditions.
“Forest fires in all the forest ranges of Tral including Kamla-Buchoo, Karmulla and Bhatnoor have been completely extinguished and no fresh incident was reported from anywhere in sub division,” Range officer forest department Tral, Farooq Ahmad, said.
Over 50 to 60 personnel, including that of the wildlife department, forest protection force and the forest department (with casual labourers from all the departments), are still on the ground to keep a watch on the situation after dousing it completely, he added.
Earlier, fire engulfed in some forest ranges of Tral on Monday, which created tense in the whole area as most of the green covers were under these fires.
However, joint team of employees from all the wings of forest department including that of wildlife reached the spot and saved green gold by extinguished the fire.
