 Srinagar, Jan 16: A 43-year-old man on Tuesday succumbed to injuries, 28 days after he sustained bullet injuries in Shopian district of south Kashmir.

On December 19 last year, the man, Mohammad Ayoub Mir, received three bullet wounds in his abdomen during the clashes amid a gunfight between the militants and government forces at Batmuran Kellar area of the district.

In the gunfight, two militants were killed, while a woman Beauty Jan died and over dozens of protesters were injured.

Mir had undergone treatment for more than 15 days at SMHS hospital her in Srinagar and was later discharged.

On Tuesday morning, Mir passed away at his home in Chatergam. Report said Mir was later laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans. (GNS)
