Pulwama, Jan 25: Panic gripped the Pinalgam area of Narbal in Kakapora Pulwama in South Kashmir Wednesday evening, when a leopard was spotted in one of the residential houses there.

According to eyewitnesses, at least four persons were wounded while dealing with this leopard, when it was roaming from here and there in a residential area of Narbal village, before entering one of the residential houses, where it was stayed.

Sources said this leopard wreaked havoc in the area for hours. After it started attacking people, the wildlife department was informed.

Soon after it, the wildlife employees from Control room Tral, headed by Incharge CR Tral Bilal Ahmad Reshi, reached the spot and fired tranquilizing darts on the animal.

After tranquilizing the wild cat, it was transported to a forest known as “Wastorwan” forests in Tral.

Meanwhile, Range officer, wildlife department Tral, Iqbal Khurshid appreciated the team for their quick action.
