Srinagar, Jan 18: The Chairman of Ummat e Islami, Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir who was detained friday night for leading a pro Freedom march in Khudwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district remained in police detention for the 4th consecutive day.
Ummat e Islami held a meeting to denounce the continuous incarceration of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir and said mostly the Police would release any leader after their programe is over, however if we study the arrests of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir, we find a pattern that he is kept under detention for weeks together whenever detained, without any charge. He is arrested and never has he been kept in jail for less than two weeks.
The Members said that the Policy of Political Vendetta against Ummat e Islami will die a slow death as Ummat e Islami is spread to the grass root levels in South Kashmir and nobody can take us out from South Kashmir. “We are in every corner of South Kashmir, perhaps that factor has worried many corners of the society and many power holders too, but we shall continue to grow,” Moulana Nisar Nayeemi said.
Moulana Nisar demanded the immediate release of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir and other Political prisoners.
