Anantnag, Jan 16: A shutdown was observed to commemorate the first death anniversary of three Hizbul Mujahideen militants in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The impact of shutdown was felt in Wullarhama Srigufwara and adjacent areas.

Shops and business establishments remained closed while transport also remained off the roads.

Three Hizb militants Masoom Shah, Adil Reshi and Abid Sheikh were killed in a gunfight last year on this day.

Meanwhile, posters of slain militants appeared in some areas of the town on their first death anniversary. (CNS)
