Srinagar, Jan 06: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Zone Amirakadal held a meeting on Saturday to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 07.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mohammad Ashraf Dar, PDP Zone President Amirakadal. Besides Abdul Hamid Kosheen, senior party worker the meeting was attended by all ward heads and senior party workers of Amirakadal zone.

The meeting paid glowing tributes to the PDP founder and recalled his landmark contributions in the socio-economic upliftment of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting observed that that Mufti Mohammad Syed upheld probity in public life and distinguished himself as a politician of high ethical and moral values.

“Late Mufti Saheb never allowed himself to be swayed by power or subdued by adversities,” Mohammad Ashraf Dar said, zone president Amirkadal said in his address.

Recalling known facets that characterized his persona Dar remarked that Late Mufti was an astute politician but had very limited aspirations. “However, he had precise objectives with an avowed desire to raise the dignity of the political worker and the state’s people,” the meeting observed.

Dar appealed all the workers that they should rededicate themselves for the implementation of mission and agenda set out by our beloved leader who devoted his entire life for the welfare of Kashmiri people.

Almost all speakers on the occasion highlighted the contribution made by Late Mufti and pledged to work towards implementation of his socio-economic and political vision vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting reviewed arrangements for commemorating 2nd anniversary on January 7 and the workers were asked to assemble at Bijbehara at11:00 am on Sunday. (KNS)
