Jammu, Jan 2: While Opposition parties staged a walk out on the first day of Budget Session Jammu Kashmir Assembly, the firebrand law maker from North Kashmir, Engineer Rasheed staged a protest outside the legislative assembly to demand “right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir”.
Holding a banner with pictures of slain civilians Mysara Bano and Asif and pellet victims, Rasheed said that “right to self-determination was the only way out” for resolution of Kashmir issue.
Bano and Asif were killed in alleged army firing in Kupwara district in separate incidents last month. Rasheed had termed the killings as “cold-blooded murder”.
“If Kashmir is not an issue then what is Dineshwar Sharma doing in J&K. Why is India talking to separatists,” he asked.
Meanwhile, the Opposition parties including National Conference and
Congress while disrupting the Governor address raised anti-government slogans. The Opposition parties later on staged a walk out. (CNS)
