Srinagar, Jan 01: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted at Khrew Chowk Pampore Monday while the Lethpora gunfight goes on. Pampore is the nearest town of Lethpora.

Local sources said that heavy contingent of forces were deployed in and around Khrew Chowk to keep the highway open which was blocked by the protesters.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants in Lethpora gunfight.

Shutdown is being observed in Pulwama, Pampore, Tral, Awantipora and other interior areas of Pulwama district.

Reports from Tral said that despite restrictions thousands have reached Hayena village to attend funeral prayers of Fardeen Khandey.
