Kashmir has been turned into a big jail; police state// Muhammad Yasin Malik

Srinagar, Jan 03:  Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested by police toady from JKLF office and immediately shifted to central jail Srinagar on a judicial remand. Police this afternoon cordoned the JKLF office at Abi Guzar and arrested JKLF chairman. It is worth to mention that JKLF district president Budgam Gulzar Ahmad Pahalwan has also been arrested by Budgam police in a nocturnal raid on his house.

Before his arrest JKLF chairman while speaking to media person said that Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police garrison and a big jail where no one is allowed to move or speak freely. He said that arresting people, placing them under house arrest, clamping curfews and restrictions has become the order of day.

JKLF chairman said that so-called Rulers propagated sugarcoated slogans like healing touch, battle of ideas and no bullet but talks and tried to deceive people by these catchphrases. Irony is that despite martyring hundreds, arresting and injuring thousands, snatching eyesight of thousands, vandalizing properties worth billions, torturing men, women and children by holding crackdowns during chilling cold weather especially in south Kashmir, arresting, house arresting and torturing people including resistance leadership, choking every little space on peaceful political activities and hence turning Kashmir into a police state, these rulers have not changed their hypocritical politics and are shamelessly seen raising same catchy slogans in order to deceive and defeat people.

JKLF chairman said that the sole purpose of these so-called rulers and their forces is to suppress people’s voices in the name of operation all out and finish Kashmiri resistance against illegal Indian occupation by breaking their will and resolve.

He said that history of all nations bears a witness to the fact that all suppressed nations who fought for their freedom and self-determination faced bullying from the oppressors but that coercion never succeeded in putting those nations into submission or defeat their struggle.

We want to tell our oppressor that military suppression will never succeed in putting nation of Jammu Kashmir into submission and it can never compel us to surrender before its illegal occupation, asserted JKLF chairman.

Meanwhile high level JKLF delegation today visited Magarmalbagh and participated in congregational prayers meeting held for deceased Mtr. Shareefa Begum who was mother in law of Shaheed I Hikamat Doctor Abdul Ahad Guru and mother of Shaheed Mian Ashiq Hussein.

JKLF leaders Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidhi, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and others were part of this delegation. Delegation paid rich tributes to the deceased lady and prayed for her heavenly abode.
