Jammu, Jan 15: PDP Youth Vice president and MLA from Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir has congratulated Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu for presenting a pro people budget which represents urges and aspirations of the every section of the society including need based workers, Govt. employees, journalist fraternity and the people associated with trade, industry and tourism.
According to the KNS correspondent Mohammad Lateef Bhat, participating in debate on Budget proposals for next fiscal in Legislative Assembly today, Yawar Mir launched a scathing attack on main opposition NC for its wrong policies adding that the present Government especially the Finance Minister is struggling hard to ward off the liabilities created by it over the years.
While lauding the announcement in the budget to regularise about 60,000 need based and casual workers, Yawar said that this will be 3rd landmark and revolutionary step after introduction of Land to tillers Act and opening of Srinagar-Muzafarabad road. “one can easily see feelings of a common poor man on each page of the Budget speech”.
Yawar maintained and said present Government was engaged in correcting the wrongs inherited from the previous regimes, may be these in the form of financial liabilities or creation of a large number of idle casual/need based workers.
He said Finance Minister has done a hurricunion job by framing a pragmatic regularization policy for about 60,000 temporary workers who were, over the years, only exploited by various political organisations for their vested interests. “Draboo Sb”s this decision will be written in golden letters in the history of the state, ” Yawar added.
Referring to the criticism of Opposition for extending GST in the state, Yawar said actually Ex. Finance Minister from NC was the main architect of GST regime, for which he has been praised even by the union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely when the Act was passed in the Parliament.
Yawar saluted Finance Minister for bringing working class ,pensioners and employees under the ambit of insurance cover kadding that this step will provide a big relief to the low paid sections of the society. He hailed the Budget for extending 7th pay recommendations to the employees of the state adding that CM’s Business Interest Relief Scheme” for borrowers will provide a big relief to the bank loanees. He also hailed the Budget for reducing tax on willow wicker items adding that this decision will go a long way to further promote the cricket bat factory in the state which has about Rs.100 cr annual turnover.
However, he demanded much more for the development of the Sopore fruit mandi, which, he said, is the biggest Mandi in Asia. (KNS)
