Army and IISM join hands to train 60 Kashmiri youth

 

Srinagar, Mar 23: The Army is conducting a Skiing Course at Gulmarg from 21 Mar to 28 Mar 2018 for 60 young and dynamic boys and girls from all parts of Kashmir Valley in association with Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM), Gulmarg.

The initiative is aimed towards inculcating the spirit of adventure in the younger generation, skill building and also generating opportunities for self employment amongst the youth. During the seven day course, participants will be exposed to introductory and basic skills of skiing. The venture has been received positively by the participants as was evident from the enthusiasm displayed by them.

The course will culminate on 28th Mar 2018 and a graduation ceremony will be organised wherein all participants will be awarded certificates of merit on successful completion of the course.

Such innovative drives by the Army provide exposure and enable positive engagement of young minds of Kashmir. Besides generating job opportunities, this unique initiative will go a long way in promoting tourism and in furthering the goal of peace and harmony in the state. (KNB)
