Ganderbal, 18 March: A meeting of Civil Society Kangan came to be held today on 18th of March 2018, which was attended by the people from different walks of society including the members from Education, Transport, Social activists etc.
The members of the Society said that the forum will be away from any political affiliation. They further said that the civil society is a non-political forum of respected individuals from the Sub district Kangan, and that it is an initiative by the concerned locals to come together under one roof so that social and economic issues, developmental issues are highlighted before the government and administration.
The society will act as a bridge between public and authorities. It will educate and inform common masses about their rights and will facilitate people’s opinions about various social and economic issues.
Ab Rashid Ahangar was nominated as its Chairman, Firdous Ahmad Rather as Vice Chairman, while as Advocate Abid Jeelani was nominated as the General Secretary. The other members included in the executive body are Mohammad Ashraf Shah, Mohammad Yusuf Paswal, Mohammad Ibrahim and Ghulam Hassan Mir.
However, the said committee is temporary, and will be finalized through proper election very soon.
