Discusses development issues needing redressal
Pulwama, Mar 25: Civil Society Pulwama today held a general meeting to discuss the development issues facing the district and chart out future course of action.
The members led by its chairman Ghulam Nabi Malik met here in the town and raised the issues of development which need immediate redressal.
The Society also nominated its provisional executive body with Abdul Rahim Khan as patron-in-chief, Er Nazir Ahmad Dar as General Secretary, Farooq Ahmad as Convener, Gazi Ahmad Pandit as Legal advisor and other official members.
Members who spoke during the meeting said that Pulwama district is being neglected on development front and the people here are facing many issues which need immediate redressal by the district administration.
The meeting discussed that from education to health and other public delivery systems, people are facing difficulties in smooth redressal of their issues.
The members said that the maternity hospital announced by the government should be set up in the town and any attempt by the administration or government to move it to any other place will be resisted.
They said that educational institutions should deliver smooth academics to students and any difficulty which the students are facing should be resolved.
“We will raise the issues with the district administration once we fix a day to meet them and will seek meeting with all district officers to redress administrative and governance issues,” the members said.
They said course of action will be charted out and the Society will be expanded by involving conscious people from all the villages of the district to come forward and strengthen the Society for prosperity of the district. (KNS)
