Fisheries department Anantnag organizes awareness camp

Anantnag, Mar 22: Department of Fisheries Anantnag organised awareness camp programme with regard to Ranching of fish in riverine fishries at Fish Farm Verinag under the scheme blue Revolution scheme today.
On the occasion, various officials include SDM Dooru Abdul Rashid Mir and students of various schools including teachers were present on the function.
Deputy Director Fisheries Anantnag, Mohammad Ashraf Darzi said in the function that the department is doing a lot of efforts for the benefit of the fish farmers. We should establish coordination between the department and the people for the better establishment of the fish farming units.
Sub divisional Magistrate SDM Verinag Abdul Rashid Mir was the chief guest on the occasion and said that District Anantnag has been recognized as the trout district, the district will get more exposure for fish farming and other allied activities. He added the fisheries sector has tremendous potential in terms of employment opportunities, We are seeing this departments role on various tourist places adding that youth should come forward to establish the fish farms and provide employment to others as well.
Participants in the programme thanked the department for organizing such programmes and hoped that such programmes will be organized in future too. (KNB)
