Former NC MLC among 5 injured in road mishap


Poonch, March 12: Senior leader of National Conference (NC) and former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) among five persons injured in a road mishap in borer district of Poonch in Jammu region on Monday.

A police officer told news agency GNS that a vehicle (Bolero) bearing registration number JK02BP-073 overturned and skidded off the road near Shrine at Bhata Bhurian in Gursai area of Mendhar late today afternoon.

In the mishap, five persons including the former MLC Mohammad Akhlaq Khan traveling in the vehicle were injured.

Two more among the injured were identified as Tahir Iqbal Khan (Driver) and Mohammad Reyaz (PSO of the NC leader). Besides them, a woman and a child were among the injured. All the injured have been hospitalized in the nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred when the NC leader was returning back to home after offering condolences to some family at Naka Manjhari. (GNS)
