Srinagar, 23 March: Ulema and religious scholars are most esteemed but they should stop fringe among their ranks from spreading hate among Muslims. Kashmiris are being slaughtered at ceasefire line (LoC) but international community seems to maintain slumber. Kashmiri inmates are being subjected to worst kind of state oppression in jails and police stations. This was stated by the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik while speaking to people at Masjid Bilal the Bund today.
Nimaz-I-Jinaza Gayibana for Shaheed Naeem Butt who was martyred in Azad Kashmir was held at park ‘The Bund Srinagar’. JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with hundreds of people participated in prayers. Also JKLF leaders and activists led by zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal held peaceful protest at Lal Chowk against plight of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in various jails.
Nimaz-I-Jinaza Gayibana (funeral prayers in absentia) was held at ‘The bund Lal Chowk Srinagar’ for martyr Naeem Butt who embraced martyrdom in Azad Kashmir on 21st march 2018. Martyr Naeem was injured in police firing near cease fire line at Azad Kashmir on 16th March 2018 and succumbed to his injuries on 21st March. JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with thousands of people from all walks of life, participated in Nimaz-I-Jinaza Gayibana which was led by JKLF member Altaf Khan.
JKLF leaders and activists gathered near Budshah Chowk and staged a peaceful protest against the plight of Kashmiri inmates languishing in various jails and police stations. Led by JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, JKLF leaders Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Mushtaq Ajmal, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Siraj ud din Mir, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Ashraf bin Salam and others participated in the protest. While condemning the atrocities being committed on Kashmiri prisoners in various Udhampor Jail ,Kuthuwa jail, Hiranagar jail, Amphala Jammu jail, Kot-balwal jail in Jammu jails, Tihar and other jails of India and various police stations and incarceration centers, JKLF leaders on the occasion also condemned the shifting of scores of prisoners from Srinagar to Jammu .
Meanwhile JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik today addressed people at Masjid Bilal ‘the bund Lal Chowk’. In his address, JKLF chairman expressed his dismay over the growing intolerance and hate speeches by some religious preachers especially on social media in which these people through their hate speeches are widening the gap between various sects of Muslims and are hence tarnishing the unity among our ranks and files. JKLF chairman said that Ulema and religious scholars are most valued in our society but this reverence brings more responsibilities on their shoulders. They should stop fringe elements among their ranks from spreading hate among Muslims through their speeches and sermons because this growing menace is responsible for widening the gap between various sects of Muslims and in no way is in the interest of our Ummah. JKLF chairman said that this hate mongering has risen to an alarming height now and these preachers have started showering abuses on one another, calling for fiery debates and even at occasion are indulging in calling others infidel and non-Muslim. This state of affairs is not acceptable to us as it is detrimental to our unity and cohesiveness and if these hate mongers don’t stop immediately, Nation will have no choice but to boycott them all.
While condemning the ongoing massacre of Kashmiris on LoC (Ceasefire Line), JKLF chairman said that that Kashmiris living on both forcibly separated sides of Kashmir alongside the ceasefire line (LOC) are bearing the brunt of a criminal silence maintained by the international community and its failure to resolve Kashmir dispute. He said that on 16th March 2018, JKLF had called for a peaceful march against the same, during which our brother Naeem Butt received bullets and finally succumbed to his wounds and attained martyrdom. Welcoming the decision of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir of calling a judicial probe into martyr Naeem’s killing, JKLF chairman hoped that this probe will conclude in time and the culprits who killed Naeem will be given stern punishment. While paying rich tributes to Shaheed Naeem and all others who laid down their lives for the righteous cause, JKLF chairman prayed for their heavenly abode.
While condemning the ongoing oppression unleashed by India and its stooges on Kashmiri inmates, JKLF chairman said that scores of prisoners have been shifted to jails in Jammu and even some have been shifted to Tihar Jail. India is using every barbaric tactic to suppress Kashmiri voices and use of NIA intimidation is also part of this oppression, said Yasin Malik. He said that our business and economy is also being targeted by Indian rulers with the active help of their Kashmiri stooges which is also part of this colonial onslaught by India. After the speech of JKLF chairman, funeral prayers in absentia were held for martyr Naeem Butt.
