JD Edu North Kashmir says CEO will look into the matter
Srinagar, Mar 29: Even as the authorities had ordered over 80 institutions to participate in Science Exhibition programme, the event organized by District Institute Educational Training (DIET) Kupwara witnessed a participation of only 18 institutions in the programme, officials said.
A day-long Science Exhibition programme was organised by Education department Kupwara in which only 18 school institutions took part and showcased their models on the occasion.
Joint Director Education North Kashmir and Chief Education Officer along with DIET staff members were present on the occasion.
Students of 18 different institutions were present on this occasion along with their school science teachers.
A highly placed source in the department told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that an order was released from Chief Education Officer’s office, asking 81 institutions across the district to participate in the science exhibition programme scheduled to be held today (Thursday).
However, they said that out of 81 institutions only 18 participated.
Refreshment and lunch was prepared for all the participants, they added.
Joint Director North Kashmir told KNS that due to the busy schedule, the invitees may not have attended and the concerned CEO will look into the matter.
Meanwhile, Joint Director North Kashmir said that the rationalization process of the schools has been ordered.
He was replying to a query about the shortage of teaching staff in far-flung institutions of Kupwara district including a school in Villgam Handwara in which 13 teachers have been deputed to teach only seven students and two teachers have deputed to teach about 200 students in Zurhama School.
“We have released orders for rationalization process in this regard,” he said.
He also admitted that the shortage of teaching staff leads has led t huge loss in academic session of students.
It is worth to mention here that from last 10 months, the authorities have failed to fill the vacant seat of DIET principal in the district.
However, the CEO Kupwara is holding the additional charge of DIET principal, source said.
Despite repeated attempts, CEO Kupwara could not be materialized to have comments on this regard. (KNS)
