Srinagar Mar 13: Train services resumed Tuesday after remaining suspended for a day in the Kashmir valley in view of killing of three militants in a gunfight between militants and the security forces in Anantnag yesterday.
“We have resumed train service and all trains will operate as per schedule in the Valley following fresh advisory from police last night,” a senior railway official said.
Now trains will chug on Budgam-Srinagar- Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, it will also run on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir.
“We had to suspend trains after an advisory yesterday though some trains had left different stations,” he said.
The trains were later stopped at different stations for security reasons. He said Mondays normally witness a heavy rush of passengers who resume their normal activities after a holiday. (KNB)
