Asks CM to intervene before situation takes ugly turn
Jammu, Mar 03: Accusing Bhartiya Janta Party leaders and ministers for giving a communal shape to the alleged kidnap and murder case of a minor nomad girl in a village of Hiranagar in Kathua, National Conference today asked state chief minister to intervene in the matter and to check ugly politics going on in the matter.
In his statement, Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan accused BJP of giving a communal shape to the case just for the sake of vote banks.
“The said case is related to an act against humanity and accused should be dealt with iron hands to give a strong message for all” Jan said.
He however said that the way BJP leaders are regularly giving statements over the case shows they are playing politics on it.
Jan also asked Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, to personally intervene in the matter and to desist BJP from making this a communal issue and also to ensure quality investigation in the case.
Jan also mentioned about statement of two senior BJP cabinet ministers, published in a national daily, and said that individual statements of leaders and ministers should be barred for preventing this matter falling in political gorge and statements should only be issued by government. (KNS)
