Auqaf Islamia Khiram expressed complaint against Electric Division Bijbehara
Anantnag April 20: Despite of rainshower large number of people throng Khiram Dargah on the eve of
Friday following in pertinent to Meraj-ul-Aalam (SAW) to offer friday prayers and have glimpse of Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad(SAW.
Irrespective of age devotees including men, women, elderly persons, youth and children had come from different parts of Valley to offer Friday prayer.
It is pertinent to inform that hundreds of people had offered special congregational prayers during the night. During the gatherings, various Islamic scholars highlighted the importance of Shab-e-Mehraj and its blessings.
According to reports said that since morning, devotees started arriving from all nearby areas.
Mufti Zia Ul Haq head preachers on behalf on Auqaf Islamia Khiram thanked all the concerned departments viz Food and Supply Department, Transport Departments, Police Departments but expressed complaint against the Electric Division Bijbehara. He said ” Electric Division had totally failed to provide proper electric systems on this ouspicious day.
He requested Chief Engineer PDD Division Bijbehara to look into the matter.
One of the ED employee who didnt wished to be named said ” Every year on each ouspicious days we used to get necessary equipment, wire , bulbs, holder from AEE ED Bijbehara but this year we didnt even recieved a output wire.
When contacted AEE Bijbehara Mohd Yousuf he said “On our consent STD division bijbehara provided 24 hours power supply on the ouspicious days of Shab-e-Mehraj and One genset was also kept avaliable for power backup. While asking about the equipment he said “already enough lighting arrangements is avaliable in and around the premises of shrine so i dont think there was any need to provide additional bulbs etc that would have just wasted the expenditures.
One of the devotee Farooq Ahmad told “satisfactory arrangements were made by Auqaf Islamia Khiram to safeguard devotees from rains”.
Another devotee Shafeeqa banu said “we thank district administration for better transport arrangements that made it feasible for the devotees to reach dargah”
Ghulam Mohammad a local resident of khiram said “construction works going on the Srigufwara Khiram road is going with a snails pace that causes inconvenience to the general public and devotees too” he further added that District Administering should have ensured speedy patching of road whereever most necessary before few days of Mehraj-un-Nabi so that devotees wont suffer.
