Srinagar, April 9: The joint resistance leadership, comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, while strongly condemning the arrest of seven Dukhtaran-e-Millat activists, has said that “occupying forces after brutalizing our youth do not allow us to even mourn their death”.
“This is utmost highhandedness and moral bankruptcy to handcuff female freedom activists,” JRL said in a statement issued to GNS.
The leaders said that “stooges” of Delhi have gone so low that they tarnish apart even their own laws. They said that rhetoric of respect and dignity of women folk, especially that of the women chief minister, draws totally hoax when it comes to dealing with our nation.
“But history stands testimony to the fact that stooges and collaborators of oppressive and brute forces get vanished with time and Kashmiri nation will also see the fate of these agents of cruelty,” they said.
The leaders said these “mean and immoral acts of oppression” have never cowed down the will and aspiration of the people in general and leaders in particular. They further said that establishment should at least uphold their own laws and regulations.
JRL appealed the international forums of justice and human rights organizations to take strong note of these “gross violations” of basic rights. (GNS)
