Kathua: Kashmiri Students holds Protests in solidarity with Asifa in Selaque Dehradun

 

Srinagar, April 17: Hundreds of Kashmiri Students here on today evening staged a protest demonstration under the Banner of J&K students Association in solidarity with the eight-year-old nomadic girl Asifa, who was first raped and then killed in Rasana, Hiranagar village of Jammu Kashmir’s Kathua district in Selaque area of Dehradun.

The Programme was Supported by National Students Union of India and Student Federation of India. Apart from Kashmiri, Students from many Institutes belonging to Different Religions also participated in the Protest demanding Hanging of Culprits.

Hundreds of students gathered at Selaqui Dehradun holding placards which read “Justice for Asifa,” “Hang the killers,” “Hang the Rapists. The march which started from Doon DCast College Dehradun ended at chakrata Road and witnessed a huge participation of Students.

Students said the Protest march was aimed to draw attention to violence against women all over the world, adding, the modesty of women should be respected in all ways no matter which place.

Coordinator of students Association Nasir Khuehami said that the way rapist is being supported is very unfortunate and has exceeded the limit of words of condemning.
He while condemning the act said that the lawyers of jammu bar court association have crushed the law under their own feet. He demanded FIR against Bar President B.S Salathia.

Government should act on the atrocities against the women in the country, Another Activist Mushtaq Ahmad said.

Aggreived Protesting students lashed out at Jammu Bar for allegedly hampering the efforts of Crime Branch of J&K police to bring culprits of the crime to the book, demanding FIR against Bar President B.S Salathia.

Student Federation of India President Himanshu Singh demanded death penalty to the culprits, he said the assault on the small girl exposed the politics of hatred and exclusion in the country.

In the age of playing with dolls they played with her innocence.we want rapists of asifa to be hanged mercilessly another Activist Suhail Wani said.

Earlier on Sunday Hundreds of Kashmiri and non Kashmiri Students protests at Ganta Garh Dehradun in Soldiarity With 8 year old Asifa.
