Bandipora, April 19: Clashes erupted between protesting students and government forces in Ajas area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday against the Kuthua rape and murder incident.
The students of higher secondary school Ajas held a protest against the incident and marched towards main town Ajas.
Witnesses said that protestors were confronted by forces who retaliated with teargas shelling on stone pelting students.
Four protesting students sustained injuries in clashes.
One policeman identified as Constable Danish has received injuries in his hand after hit by a stone, an official said.
Another protest march was witnessed from Mantrigam higher secondary village where the Higher Secondary school students took out a protest march in solidarity with the victimized nomad family.
