Demand release of their salaries
Srinagar, Apr 19: The labourers of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Thursday staged protest outside Medical Superintendent’s office here to demand authorities to release their salaries.
The labourers while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the authorities have failed to release their salaries from past four months. “We have been forced to take streets to press for our demands as the authorities have pushed us to face hardships in absence of salaries,” the protesting labourer said.
They said that at least 150 labourers including men and women didn’t get their salaries from past four months.
Besides withholding their salaries, the labourers alleged that the authorities are deducting Rs 540 from their salaries from past three years. “We were asked that the amount will be added in labour court for their well being but unfortunately, the authorities failed to provide any receipt to the labourers from past three years,” they added and appealed authorities to fulfill their demands at an earliest.
