Srinagar, April 02: In view of civilian and militant killings in south Kashmir. Protests rocked University of Kashmir on Monday. The students also protested University’s decision to hold the 13th J&K Science Congress (2018) event in view of killings.
Reports said that the students from various hostels of the University gathered outside the convocation complex and raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
The protesting students questioned the timing of the function in which Chancellor N.N Vohra was scheduled to participate along with Minister for Education Syed Altaf Bukhari.
Meanwhile, the students of Kashmir University offered funeral prayers in absentia for militants and civilians killed during three gunfights in Anantnag and Shopian district yesterday.
An eye witnesses said the students came out of Zakura hostel, M.A hostel and M.A.K hostel and marched towards convocation complex amid protests and pro-freedom slogans. (KNB)
