4-years-old girl dies, parents, aunt injured in Bandipora mishap

 

Srinagar, May 9: A minor girl died while as her parents and aunt were injured in a tragic road mishap at Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district late Tuesday night.

SSP Bandipora Zulfikar Azad told GNS that a vehicle-Maruti-800 (JK16-4282) skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Churchang area of Ajas resulting in injuries to four members of a family.

The injured include the Aijaz Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, his wife Shahzada, and their daughter Rinshah (4) and Rani sister of Aijaz, residents of Nawaabad, Safapora.

All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital where Rinshah succumbed to injuries while as the three other injured referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment, the officer said.

The mishap occurred late last night when the Driver (Aijaz) lost control of the vehicle near the blind curve at Churchang. The family was travelling from Bandipora towards Safapora.

The officer said that a case under the relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up. (GNS)
