Kupwara, May 24: DDC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of officers to review the Micro-Level Plans under Aspirational District initiative of the Government of India.
The meeting took a comprehensive review of the activity plans under key sectors of transformation including health, nutrition, education, basic infrastructure and skill development.
DDC impressed upon all present to accelerate the pace of progress on the already identified outcome indicators by rolling out activity plans formulated under Transformation of Aspirational District programme. He directed the concerned district officers to constitute teams at grassroot level for achieving defined goals within stipulated time frame.
“Kupwara has remarkably done well in rolling out the plan and has achieved an over third rank in the entire country out of 115 districts identified under Transformation of Aspirational District Programme of the GOI.”
“Launched by the Hon’ble PM in January, the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ programme aims to quickly and effectively transform districts. The broad contours of the programme are Convergence (of Central & State Schemes), Collaboration (of Central, State level ‘Prabhari’ Officers & District Collectors), and Competition among districts driven by a mass Movement. With States as the main drivers, this program will focus on the strength of each district, identify low-hanging fruits for immediate improvement, measure progress, and rank districts.”
