Srinagar, May 30: Taking strong note of the prisoners’ plight and “gross human rights violations” at the hands of men in uniform, Hurriyat Conference (G) secretary general Gh. Nabi Sumji on Wednesday said that the present government has turned state into a “hell” where common people face the wrath of the forces and get maimed, incarcerated and humiliated day in day out.

Hurriyat leader in a statement issued to GNS also condemned the prolonged incarceration of ailing elderly Hurriyat leader Gh Mohammad Khan Sopori and Mir Hafizullah in police stations of Sopore and Anantnag respectively.

He said that Muneeb Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Hassan Bhat has been arrested by SOG of Kulgam on flimsy grounds, which is a grave violation of human rights. (GNS)
