Reiterate demand for extension of running grade benefits to them
Srinagar, May 14: Jammu and Kashmir lecturers Forum hailed the assurance of Minister for Education and Finance Minister regarding the implementation of Running Grade for +2 Lectures.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Spokesperson Jammu and Kashmir lecturers Forum said that a high level delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Lecturers Forum led by its State President Dr. Manzoor today met the Education Minister Chowdhari Zulfkar and welcome him on assuming his charge as minister for Education, in his office chamber in civil Secretariat Srinagar.
During the half an hour discussion the delegation assured the minister of their full support in productive and effective running of the department. “The lecturer community is hopeful that the department will scale new heights under the dynamic and vibrant leadership of the new head” said the president of the forum.
He said that the experience and the leadership qualities the new Minister is gifted with, are due to give boost to all the spheres of our education sector. He hoped that the positive imitative taken by his predecessors shall be carried on. Besides felicitating the minister the delegation presented a charter of long pending demands the lecturer fraternity is faced with.
However the main issue which dominated the discussion was the extension of Running Grade benefits to lecturers of school education. The minister was briefed in detail how this issue has turned into a chronic and is adversely affecting the sector. The delegation thanked the minister for his patient hearing and assurance in resolving the issues in near future.
The delegation also visited Minister for Finance Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari to remind him the promise he made on the recently concluded function organized by J and K lecturers Forum in Jammu with respect to the implication of Running Grade. The minister assured them that the issue is under the deep consideration and the decision to this effect shall be taken very soon. (KNS)
