JKJCCPS welcomes Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali as new Edu minister


Vows to work for welfare of schools, quality education

Srinagar, May 05: Refuting the news report published in local dailies, the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Coordination Committee of Private Schools (JKJCCPS) said their election was held on April 30th at Kashmir Harward Educational Institutes during which Chowdhary M Showkat was elected as its new President for a period of two years with majority of votes.
JKJCCPS was established in November 2017 and G N Parry was elected as its adhoc president. Six associations including Kashmir Private Schools Association, J&K School Organization, Joint Committee of Private Schools, J&K Unaided Private School Coordination Committee, Private School Association and Private School Association Jammu became its members.
JKJCCPS said Executive Committee, comprising of 32 members, was also formed who participated in the elections in which G N Var, Mohammad Yousuf and Shabir Ahmad also participated.
After a thorough discussion, two names were suggested for president’s post. G N Parry was nominated by M Y Wani and seconded by Farooq Fazili. Another candidate Showkat Chowdhary was nominated by Iqbal Beigh and seconded by Prof. C L Veshan.
Later, G N Parry withdrew his candidature in favor of Showkat Chowdhary. In this scenario Showkat Chowdhary was elected President of JKJCCPS by majority votes.
JKJCCPS was formed to provide a larger platform for the schools and cater to the schools from Jammu and Ladakh regions also.
Chowdhary M Showkat also heads Joint Committee of Private Schools (JCPS) under whose leadership two Education Conclaves were also organized at SKICC to devise ways and means for bettering education system.
President JKJCCPS Chowdhary M Showkat said it wants to work for the betterment of the schools and also strive for the quality education to the society.
He said JKJCCPS is an apolitical organization and has nothing to do with state politics while as break-away faction has always been giving political statements.
JKJCCPS said it would, however, work seeking the kind cooperation of the government to improve the quality standard of the education in the state.
Chowdhary hailed former Education Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari for helping the private schools to improve the overall education system in the state.
While welcoming the present Honorable Education Minister Zulkfar Ali Chowdhary he urges him to take the work of the past minister forward and take the education system to further heights.
“We will provide every support to the education minister so that students from our state not only excel at the state level but also at the national and international level,” he said. (KNS)
