Killing of tourist at Narabal ‘shameful, unfortunate’: Qayoom Wani
Appeals people to preserve, protect values of brotherhood, communal harmony

Srinagar, May 09: Senior JCC leader and President EJAC, Ab Qayoom Wani Wednesday termed the killing of a tourist namely Thirumani from Chennai during stone pelting at Narabal ‘shameful, unfortunate and highly condemnable’.
In a statement issued to KNS, Wani said that Kashmiris have always preserved their brotherhood, communal harmony, human values and hospitality during difficult situations and will continue it at any cost.
“Tourists are our esteemed guests, they need our love, respect, and hospitality but such types of inhuman acts are unacceptable which tells upon the human character and hospitality of Kashmiri people,” he said.
Wani said that the way every Kashmiri has condemned the killing of tourist and showed sympathy with the bereaved family is eye-opener for those who are always hell bent upon to tarnish the image of people of J&K.
He also condemned the attitude of some people belonging to electronic and print media at National level who have presented the issue in a negative way to damage the tourist industry in particular and the economy of Kashmir in General. He appealed the people of J&K to preserve and protect the values of brotherhood, communal harmony and hospitality in every situation.
Wani along with all EJAC leaders expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family and with the girl namely Sabreena from Handwara injured in the incident and prayed for her speedy recovery. (KNS)
