Srinagar, May 1: Lower Jehlam hydroelectric power project (LJHP) in Peerniyan area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district gutted in a fire mishap on Tuesday morning.

Reports reaching GNS said that fire broke out inside a building and later engulfed adjoining buildings of the LJHP. Soon after the fire, local volunteers living in the area, and a fire tender from Baramulla reached the spot and douse off the flames.

“One building (store of LJHP) gutted completely while few others suffered a partial damage,” they said.

A police officer while confirming the incident said that the police team of the concerned police station reached the spot and are ascertaining the cause of the incident. (GNS)
