Sopore : In order to educate students on prevention and importance of good health SRM Welkin Higher Secondary Sopore on Monday organised medical screening cum awareness camp in-collaboration with SKIMS medical Soura Srinagar, department of endocrinology.
To achieve the objective of creating a healthier society through improved preventive measures and to spread awareness among students related Health issues a day long screening survey cum awareness camp held inside institute in which large number of students, teachers underwent blood tests for detection of diabetes and Thyroid by a special team of doctors.
On the occasion, Dr Shariq Masood highlighted the importance of such screening health camps,and stressed upon the need to maintain healthy life style by taking balanced diet, doing regular exercises. While speaking to the large gathering of students, teachers including Sopore Coordination Committee members, journalists at the screening cum awareness camp Dr Masood said that many cases of diabetes are a result of harmful lifestyle because little physical activity.
Meanwhile Chairperson of SRM Welkin Sopore Baseema Aijaz said that the main motive to organize such camps are to aware students because they (students) at young age acts as best messengers who take the message to their parents, family and other community members, basic medical attention can drastically improve their standard of living.
