Muslim League condemns killing of Shopian teenager

Srinagar, May 3: While condemned the killing of a teenager, Muhammad Umar Kumhar of Pinjora village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, Jammu Kashmir Muslim League Thursday said forces have let loose a “reign of terror in Kashmir and are killing and brutalizing people mercilessly”.

In a statement, Muslim League spokesperson Sajad Ayoubi said that: “Instead of resolving Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir, the government of India has adopted an oppressive and stubborn approach, muzzling genuine voices by use of military might and chocking all space for peaceful resistance.”

He said that world powers are watching these developments as mute spectators as if nothing is happening in Kashmir.

Sajad Ayoubi said on one hand the forces were torturing, threatening and inflicting pain and agony on people and on the other hand the killing continues in a “systematic and planned manner. “India is using the tactics of Israel in Kashmir and the world bodies should take cognizance of the atrocities committed by India.

He said that the stubborn attitude of government of India regarding the resolution of the long pending human issue of Jammu and Kashmir is the main reason of bloodshed in Kashmir. (CNS)
