Srinagar, May 12: Normal life was restored in the volatile South Kashmir District of Shopian on Saturday after six successive days of spontaneous shutdown against the civilian and militant killings. However, the neighboring Pulwama continued to remain shut for the seventh day in a row.
Ground reports said that shops and other business establishments opened in Shopian town and elsewhere. Public transport also plied.
Although on the otherhand , shutdown continued in Pulwama district where a gunfight broke out earlier today in Chinar Bagh Takay Mohalla in Barpora village. A CRPF trooper was killed in the gunfight while militants, believed to be three in number, managed to escape.(KNB)
