Islamabad/Anantnag, 12 May:
The Chairman of Ummat e Islami and Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir post his release today visited the families of slain youth in Dooru and Kulgam District who were killed in Shopian on Sunday. The Chairman of Ummat e Islami had been arrested on Friday enroute to Dooru to lead a Pro Freedom rally in the area.
Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir while expressing solidarity with the families of Slain youth said that Kashmiri youth have sacrificed their blood to ensure a better tomorrow for the Kashmiri people. “We are proud of our youth and they all are our brothers,” Mirwaiz Yasir said.
Responding to the statment of Army Chief, Bipin Rawat Mirwaiz Yasir said that the Army General should know that the victory of Kashmiri nation is in the fight and carrying it on. “He should know that the youth of Kashmir are aware about every move of the indian state and have countered every step of theirs, this is our victory,” he said. Mirwaiz Yasir said that Bipin Rawat should know that he can never win a lost cause. The Defiance of Kashmiri youth despite his several threats that they will be shot, they will be killed, treated as OGWs is a clear indication that India has lost the battle long ago. “Our Victory is in the mass participation in Funerals and women expressing their dissent,” Mirwaiz Yasir said.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that India needs to ensure that the stakeholders and key party to Kashmir dispute sit on a dialogue table and this can be only ensured when a conducive atmosphere is created on the ground. “I have travelled South Kashmir, i know people here and with more authenticity than anyone right now, i can tell India that Iron Fist Policies will yield nothing, the youth of Kashmir are angry,” he said. Mirwaiz Yasir said that more number of Youth are joining Militants than they are killed.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that it is sad how the Government Forces have been burning down houses even after the Rebels escape. “I have met people at Khudwani and in Turkwangam who said that Rebels were not in their houses, but the Forces even after knowing that, burnt the houses down,” he said. The Laws like AFSPA give a license to troops to do whatever they are willing to, He said. Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir also condmened the brute use of Force against civilians at Encounter sites and said Civilians in the recent past have been killed not anywhere close to the encounter site, but at least 1 Kilometre away from the encounter sites.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir at last said that the youth arrested during nocturnal raids in Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam shall be immediately released. He also demanded the release of Political prisoners including Sarjan Barkati, Shabir SHah, Nayeem Khan and others.
