Ganderbal, June 28: Pedestrians, tourists were counselled in drive Ganderbal: As a part of sanitation program an anti-polythene drive continue today on 2nd day of Thursday in Sonamarg and Baltal of Ganderbal district.
The event was supported by Pollution control Board Ganderbal with SDA department and Wild life department.
The Pedestrians, tourists were counselled during the Anti-Polythene drive about the various hazards of polythene at Shutkadi. The drive was headed by District Officer Pollution control Board Ganderbal along with Sonamarg Development and Wild life department.
Polythene of 10 kgs was recovered from different shopkeepers at Sonamarg and Baltal, reports said.
The employees checked shops and vendors at Sonamarg market and Baltal area where offenders were warned to desist from such activities in future.
Bashir Ahmad Mir, employee of SDA said that such drives would help to save the environment from the degradation and we will focus on held such programs in future as well, he further added that SDA advised shopkeepers, tourists and Yatris not use polythene.
