Kupwara, June 26: DC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir visited various areas during his two days extensive tour of Sub-Division Karnah for inspection of developmental works and interaction with the local residents.
During his visit DC chaired a Public Darbar cum Grievance Redressal Camp at Tangdhar to get the first-hand appraisal of public grievances in far corners of the district and to redress them in a time-bound manner. The Darbar witnessed overwhelming participation of people from the area.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah Dr Aliyas , Tehsildar Karnah, Exen PWD, BMO Tanghdar, BDO prominent citizens besides local public participated in the grievance redressal camp.
During Darbar Local residents apprised district administration of issues pertaining to PMGSY and R&B Roads, dire need for deployment of staff in health and Education departments, adequate supply and availability of ration at CAPD Stores etc. They vociferously put forth several demands including improvements in the condition of roads, ensuring attendance and regular check on absenteeism in educational institutions and upgradation of schools, improved facilities in Primary Health Centres.
DC also visited Degree College Tangdhar and directed the concerned to ensure completion of the under construction structures by 15th of August including landscaping and fencing of the College. He also visited High School Nachyan and inspected the under construction School building. He directed the concerned to expedite the pace of work and complete it within one month. He also inspected the helipad and urged for its completion by the end of August 2018.
DC also took stock of the damage caused by flash floods and landslides in Teetwal, interacted with the affected and assured them of every cooperation for their rehabilitation by the district administration. He directed the authorities of I & FC to ensure flood protection measures towards obviating threats and loss of life and property as a result of these natural calamities in future. He directed the SDM to process the cases of the affected families for grant of relief from the SDRF
