Says deptt to organize awareness camps
Srinagar, Jun 26: Commissioner of Department of Food Safety Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Kabir Dar appealed the food business operators here to ensure hygienic food stuff to the buyers and register their outlets at an earliest.
Dr Kabir told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the food business operators must provide hygienic food stuff to the people and must follow the guidelines set by the department so that the consumers won’t face any hardships.
He said that the food business outlet owners should also register their outlets at an earliest and the department will try to provide licenses to them in an ease manner.
Dr Kabir further said that the field officials have been directed them to be available round the clock to aware people about the things and food stuff they buy from the market. “The food stuff including meat and other things are banned,” he said.
He said that anybody found violating the set rules will be dealt with strictly. The violators will be penalized and also can be arrested besides his license will be canceled,” he said.
“We don’t believe in policing as we want to ensure neat and clean food item. Following guidelines is must and can ensure better facilities to the people,” he said.
He said that the buyers should also buy items after proper check.
Dr Kabir also appealed the consumers to inform them immediately if they found unhygienic food stuff being sold by the food business operators.
He also said that the department will be organizing the awareness camps in schools and will hold interaction meetings with the food business outlet owners and general public. (KNS)
