‘Rs 4 crores earmarked for basic infra’, Says Director Fisheries
Anantnag, Jun 09: Government has declared Jammu & Kashmir’s Anantnag district as trout fish district of India. Experts say credit goes to Present Director Fisheries R.K. Pandita, who not only explores new possibilities as how to take department to new heights but in synergy encourages every employee of the department to extract best from him.
When contacted Director Fisheries’, Pandita said declaring Anantnag as trout district will boost expansion and development of new units. He said basic infrastructure of the department in Anantnag will be upgraded and more new ponds in private sector or in hatcheries will be developed. He further said that department has already earmarked Rs 4 Crores for this project and the department has received first installment of thirty percent.
He appreciated efforts of Fisheries Minister, Abdul Gani Kohli for taking keen interest in getting this project for the district. He further praised minister of State Sahoor Ahmed Mir for encouraging morale of employees of the department.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director Fisheries, Anantnag, Mohd Ashraf Darzii has congratulated director fisheries for getting this dream project approved for this district. Employees of the department also hailed efforts of directorate. (KNS)
