Srinagar, June 30: Terming the Army chief General Bipin Rawat’s statement about his “people friendly military operations” as a cruel joke with the “subjugated” people of Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference (G) said while Indian forces have waged a war against people of Kashmir, the army general terms the “inhuman and vile operations” as people friendly.
A Hurriyat (G) spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS condemned such “false” statements contrary to the ground realities and said the people of Kashmir are living a miserable life under the shadow of an “undeclared martial law” especially for the last thirty years.
He said the resistance movement for right to self-determination is an indigenous movement fully supported by the people of Kashmir so the General Rawat’s statement does not match with the ground situation.
The Hurriyat (G) spokesperson urged General Rawat to read the writing on the wall and apprise his political leadership to shun rigidity and accept the “legitimate” formula of the right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) while paying rich tributes to those slain in Chatpora, Pulwama and Keran Kupwara said: “the precious sacrifices rendered by our youth for the sacred cause of right to self-determination has showered responsibilities on us to carry this movement to its logical conclusion”.
The amalgam also condemned the killing of a boy Faizan Ahmad Khan in Pulwama. (GNS)
