Srinagar, June 21: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Thursday condemned the “policy of repression and suppression against the pro-freedom people” especially the youth across State.

Hurriyat (G) chief spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS said that the arrest of Abdul Qayoom Matto and other eight persons on the eve of Eid in Kishtwar is unjustified and worst form of vengeance.

He strongly condemned the continuous house detention of amalgam chairman Syed Ali Geelani and also placing of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai under house arrest.

The spokesperson hailed the people of Kishtwar for their determination.

He said a Hurriyat (G) delegation comprising Umar Adil Dar, Ishfaq Ahmad and Abdul Rashid visited SKIMS to enquire about the wellbeing of Abdul Majid injured in forces’ action.

“The youth is in ICU in critical condition, battling for life,” the spokesperson said adding that the delegation prayed for his early recovery and expressed solidarity with his family. (GNS)
