JKJCCPS calls on Chairman Fee Fixation Committee

Seeks 8 percent annual fee hike against 12 percent inflation

Srinagar, Jun 07: Jammu and Kashmir Joint Coordination Committee of Private Schools Thursday called on Chairman of Fee Fixation Committee of Private Educational Institutes Justice (Retd.) Imtiyaz Hussain and apprised him of the issues private schools are facing.
The JKJCCPS delegation was headed by its President Showkat M Chowdhary who was also accompanied by C L Vishen, M Yousuf Manzar, Iqbal Beigh, Owais Raja, Sajad Qureshi and others.
JKJCCPS demanded 8 percent annual hike in the school fee at the backdrop of the 12 percent year on year inflation.
The JKJCCPS President said due to the continual year on year inflation the fee fixation committee should also consider school fee hike on annual basis.
They also urged Chairman Retd. Justice Imtiyaz to clear the form of the schools for regulation.
JKJCCPS said Justice Imtiyaz gave patient hearing to their demands and assured full support to the private schools.
He said his office is ready any time for the redressal of the issues so that private schools are facilitated properly.
On the occasion, Chowdhary informed the Justice Imtiyaz that private schools are taking painstaking efforts in providing quality education to the students so that they not only excel at national but at international level in studies.
He said private schools have been providing quality education to students through modern audio visual aids and state of art infrastructure, which is incurring huge cost.
“Keeping in view the inflations rate and the norms in other states, we also request that there has to be 8 percent increase in fee hike so that we keep on updating our state of art infrastructure and don’t compromise on providing quality education to the students,” he said. (KNS)
