Says Hizb playing ‘great role’
Srinagar, June 3: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has strongly condemned the killing of a youth who was run over by a CRPF vehicle and also the firing of teargas on the people attending the funerals of slain youth.
LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted outfit chief Mehmood Shah questioning the Ramadan ceasefire announced by the Government of India.
“What peace is it that innocent people are targeted by forces, the sanctity of the Jamia Masjid Srinagar is violated, and the life of a common man is made a hell through raids and vandalizing of houses, damaging of orchards, denying of bails to the brave women of the nation,” he said.
LeT chief added, “Syed Salahuddin is the chairman of the United Jihad Council which is the amalgam of all the militant organisations of Jammu and Kashmir. The Hizbul Mujahideen leadership is playing a great role which is the reason why the educated youth join the ranks of Hizb.”
New Delhi will never succeed in its purpose, Mehmood Shah said. (GNS)
