Srinagar, June 6: Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) on Wednesday blamed Indian agencies for the killing of two youth at Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, saying that “mujahideen” are very well aware of their targets.
It also paid tributes to its men for attacking the forces camp at Hajin on Tuesday evening.
In a statement issued to GNS, Lashkar-e-Toiba spokesman Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi said that the outfit carried out the ‘fidayeen attack’ on army camp in Hajin.
“Three Indian army men were killed and several injured in the attack,” the spokesperson said.
In another emailed statement, LeT chief Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi quoted outfit chief Mahmood Shah as saying that “the targets of mujahideen have always been the Indian forces and it will remain the same”.
“The public supports us in our cause. In fact, such acts by enemy units are efforts to damage the trust between public and freedom fighters. The need of the hour is to identify the conspiracies of enemy and forge a sound alliance so as to curb the enemy’s propaganda,” Shah said.
Lashkar chief strongly condemned the “maligning of the honour” of Dukhtaran-e-Millat’s members in the Anantnag police station and said that it is nothing but an “unforgivable crime”.
“The police must not sabotage the honour of the daughters of the nation. No law in the world allows them to unveil them. If this is the behaviour of the police personnel with our mothers, sisters and daughters then they must get ready to be punished for such heinous crime,” he warned.
He said on one hand, there is a ceasefire “drama” but simultaneously, “we see the atrocities on women, fake cases and post-release arrests”.
“The leaders of the nation must take proactive measures into consideration and expose such conspiracies before the public,” Mehmood Shah said. (GNS)
