AIRA, Journalist associations, politicians and others condemned the attack
Kupwara, May 07: Stone crusher owner & his relatives attack journalist, the incident took place in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district when a freelancer Journalist are coming back to home from his professional duty, where a group of persons near his house manhandling the young Journalist.
Freelancer Journalist Wasim Mir told our Correspondent that on Wednesday after noon he was informed that a stone crusher and illegal work were functioning in Kupwara at various sports.
“when the owner of stone crusher and his relatives heard that I’m making story and wants to publish they harassed me and use abused language also they shows me gun, sticks and trying to compress me without listening anything they also broke window glasses of my house.” Later a report was registered in Police post Bazar Kupwara town where officials assured for strict action against culprits, Wasim added.
Journalists of Kupwara area have condemned the attack on their colleague during his professional duty and termed the attack as unacceptable.
All Indian Reporters association J&K condemn this high handedness of these persons and demand strict action against them.
Indian national Congress (INC) district president Kupwara Haji Farooq Mir condemned on young journalist also added that this is not attack on journalist its attack on fourth piller of Indian democracy and demand strict action against culprits.
